Karlijn Janssen
Karlijn Janssen is a red seal licensed Journeyman Hairstylist since 2015 and is the proud owner of Snippets Hair Co. located in the heart of downtown Lacombe, Alberta. Karlijn was raised in the Lacombe area and has always dreamt of opening a salon in her hometown. Her interest for hairstyling started at the local high school during cosmetology class and at that time she also began her apprenticeship at a local salon. After excelling in all three years of cosmetology at the high school, she was awarded one of the two scholarships to Academy of Hair Design. Karlijn attended MC College in Edmonton, and graduated with the Apprenticeship Award. She has been working behind the chair as a full-time stylist since 2016.
Karlijn pursued her passion to start her own business and opened Snippets Hair Co. on May 4, 2021. Her and her team have worked hard at making renovations to the salon, and gave it a fresh new feel. Her vision is to create a space that fits in with spirit of historic downtown Lacombe, yet is unique and welcoming. Her clientele describes her as professional and fun, with expertise that includes cutting, coloring and styling any type of hair and helping to make all her clients feel their best.
Paighton Smith
Paighton has loved doing hair for as long as she can remember. She specializes in up-do’s, colors, and men’s cuts but can simply make any head of hair look spectacular. Paighton is a total perfectionist and pays attention to detail.
Raised in Lacombe, Paighton went to school at Delmar College in Red Deer and has been professionally doing hair full time for the past 3 years. Her talent doesn’t stop there though, Paighton is also a dance teacher, artist and singer. No matter what she faces, her creativity shines.
Paighton’s favorite thing to do in her spare time is hangout with her husband in their new home, see their family and create new exciting choreography for her teaching job! Paighton is so excited to meet every one of you!
